Carbonova Rider Support

Built to perform under extreme conditions. Supported with the same standard.

Engineering Principles

Q1: Are carbon ceramic disc brakes really better? Can you feel the difference in everyday riding?

For regular city commuting, steel disc brakes are sufficient.
However, if you frequently go downhill at high speeds, participate in races, or are pursuing extreme lightweight design, the advantages of carbon ceramic disc brakes will be very obvious:

  • The braking feel is more linear, preventing sudden "lock-up";
  • There is no heat fade during prolonged continuous braking (steel disc brakes experience a significant decrease in braking power after reaching high temperatures);
  • The overall system is lighter, which helps with climbing and acceleration.

Q2: Is this suitable for racing and professional use?

Yes. Carbonova brake discs are designed for high-intensity riding and weight-critical performance builds, where braking predictability and heat management are essential.

Q3: Can I use Carbonova directly with my current system? Do I need any additional modifications?

Carbonovacarbon-ceramic discs are manufactured to Shimano/SRAM/Hope/Magura standard sizes (e.g., 140mm/160mm), ensuring full physical compatibility with most road bikes.
However, please note:

  • Must be used with dedicated carbon-ceramic compatible brake pads (included with the disc or sold separately);
  • Not recommended for use with sintered metal brake pads, as this may damage the disc;
  • Installation must be strictly performed according to the instruction manual (overtightening may cause the brittle material to crack).
We provide detailed installation guides and videos; please follow our YouTube channel.

Q4: Carbon ceramic discs sound delicate; will they break if dropped? How long do they last?

While carbon ceramic material is hard, it also has some brittleness. The current version is designed specifically for road bike use and is not recommended for mountain biking or environments with frequent impacts.
Under suitable usage conditions:

  • No rust issues, stable performance in rainy weather;
  • Actual lifespan can reach 2–3 times that of high-end steel discs (depending on riding intensity);
  • In the event of a severe impact (such as a crash causing disc deformation), replacement is recommended for safety.
Good news: We are developing carbon ceramic brake discs for high-impact scenarios such as mountain biking!
It will feature an enhanced impact-resistant structure, retaining lightweight and thermal stability while adapting to more demanding terrains. Stay tuned for our new product launch—it will be available soon!

Q5: Why is Carbonova priced differently? Is it worth it?

If you only ride casually every day, then it's really unnecessary.
But if you are: a professional rider or a serious amateur;
Aiming to reduce the weight of your bike to the gram level;
Or have lost confidence on long downhill sections due to heat fade in steel disc brakes;
So Carbonova provides exactly what you need.
The Founder’s Edition is limited to 100 sets, providing priority access for the first batch of users.

Q6: After-sales service and warranty

  • 20-day no-reason return policy (uninstalled, packaging intact);
  • Installation consultation available;
  • For more details, please see Support & Assurance.
